If You Love To Wear Leggings On An Airplane…

Shop: Jacket | Shirt | Leggings | Sneakers | Handbag | Necklace

Guilty.  I love to wear leggings on an airplane for their guaranteed comfort.  They’re also easy to style, so I consider a pair of black leggings a travel staple.  (They’re even better if they have pockets.) There are many ways to wear your go-to pair of leggings without feeling like you’re headed to the gym.  Keep the airport look elevated by pairing them with a quilted jacket and stylish white sneakers.  And don’t forget your favorite comfortable (read: not heavy) jewelry. It’s a quick way to complete this jet setter look.

If You Love A Matching Set…

Shop: Matching Set | Sneakers | Sunglasses | Handbag

If you’re feeling a wee bit tired from packing and have no idea what to wear on your flight the next day, wear a matching set.  They’re a great option to choose when you can not think of anything to wear (or plain just don’t want to).  The monochrome trend is not going anywhere, so pick your favorite color and wear the matching top and pants—boom! You have one solid airport look.  However, we also love to wear a matching sweater and pants set for any flight.  Not only is it undeniably comfortable, but it works especially well if you’re not a fan of leggings or other tight clothing items. Depending on your final destination, wear a fitted tank or a long sleeve top underneath for a little added warmth on the airplane.  Lastly, put on some lightweight, comfortable slip-on sneakers to feel relaxed from head to toe.

If You’re Heading Somewhere Tropical…

Shop: Tank | Pants | Sandals | Earrings | Sunglasses | Handbag

Going on an island vacation soon? I like to think of outfits that are not only suitable for my destination, but also don’t forsake comfort on the five-hour plane ride.  If you’re going someplace hot and by the beach, consider this airport look.  Combine a pair of wide-legged linen pants with a ribbed tank top and a cropped sweater. It’s easy to keep warm on the plane, but just as easy to take off after landing.  Don’t forget your sunglasses and cute rattan tote to keep the vacation vibes going, too.  If you love to wear hats, make sure to bring a fedora!

Another Option:

Shop: Cardigan | Blouse | Shorts | Sunglasses | Belt | Handbag

If You’re Heading Somewhere Cold…

Shop: Jacket | Shirt | Leggings | Boots | Hat

As I said, thinking of your final destination is a great way to narrow down what to wear to the airport.  If you’re going somewhere cold—maybe some snow or just a little bit foggy—wearing layers on the plane might be the best idea.  Wear a cropped puffer, thermal-lined leggings, a turtleneck, and your favorite pair of leather boots.  Depending on your comfort level and how many hours you’ll be sitting on the plane, wear a pair of calf-high boots or ankle booties to keep the look extra-chic. Lastly, bring a beanie for another useful, yet cute, cold weather accessory!

If You’re Heading To A Meeting Right After The Flight…

Shop: Blazer | Tee | Leggings | Sneakers | Necklace | Watch

Sometimes work requires you to travel and these trips can require a super fast turnaround.  Often, there isn’t time between landing and your meeting, so you have to be ready!   This airport outfit is comfortable enough for the plane, yet professional enough to attend that business meeting.  You can’t go wrong with wearing a blazer—it’s our go-to way to make any outfit look more professional in seconds.  A pair of faux leather trousers (or leggings) are comfortable and ready for the office.  Don’t forget, a pair of polished sneakers and a leather tote to hold all of your work essentials (and more).

If You Want To Get Dressed Up…

Shop: Dress | Jacket | Flats | Sunglasses | Tote | Blanket

I know some people aren’t fans of wearing dresses on a plane, but I disagree.  Wearing a long dress can be super comfortable when traveling!  We love this puff sleeve maxi dress, especially when paired with flats.  Keep the look fashionable with a leather jacket and gold hoops. I recommend wearing tights or even leggings underneath if you run cold.  If not, toss a packable travel blanket into your leather carry-on tote.  (You can thank me later.) I guarantee this airport outfit will have you feeling ready for any destination, event, or outing as soon as you touch down.

If You Like To Wear Jeans On A Plane…

Shop: Blazer | Tee | Jeans | Booties | Handbag

I always question whether or not jeans are comfortable to wear on an airplane and in my opinion, they are…but only in certain conditions.  I prefer to wear jeans—of all styles—for shorter flights that last up to two hours.  Sometimes they can be restricting when sitting for extra long hours, but when creating a variety of airport outfits, we do not want to forget our favorite denim, especially a baggy or wide-legged style.  Dress up the denim with a cool blazer, classic t-shirt, and heeled boots. Keep this jet-setter look in your repertoire!

If You Still Can’t Get Enough Athleisure…

Shop: Trench Coat | Tank | Joggers | Sneakers | Earrings | Watch

This is for you.  I love a sharp athleisure outfit for the airport.  It’s stylish, practical, and ultra-comfortable.  You can look your best and feel undoubtedly cozy all at the same time.  For your next trip, put on a pair of tapered joggers, a fitted tank or tee, and a trench coat to tie the whole look together.  Put your hair in a sleek bun and style it with hoops and matching watch.  Keep the sporty vibe going with your favorite travel sneakers. You’re ready to go!

If You’re A Frequent Flyer…

Shop: Shirt | Tank | Pants | Sneakers | Earrings | Backpack

If you find yourself flying often for work, vacation, or loved ones, dressing for the airport can seem like, well…a hassle. But since we all have that desire to be dressed well, this look will be your next airport outfit staple.  You can’t go wrong with a relaxed button-up shirt, wide-legged trousers, and favorite sneakers to walk in.  You can easily mix-and-match this outfit in so many different ways, but dressed up and dressed down. It all just depends on what's already in your closet, making it the perfect way to create new combinations for any of the flights on your upcoming schedule. Since you’re always hopping on planes, a backpack is the most efficient carry-on, so get one with lots of convenient, accessible pockets for all of your travel essentials!

If You Just Want To Be Extra Cozy…

Shop: Sweatshirt | Pants | Birkenstocks | Hat | Headphones | Handbag

If cozy is the goal, then this is the airport outfit for you.  All the outfits on this list are comfortable, but when you have a redeye or an early morning flight to catch, I like to dress as comfortable as possible. This is one of my go-to airport outfits: a quality crewneck sweater, black wide-legged trousers, and suede clogs.  The thick sweater keeps you warm and the loose pants give you that extra comfort factor no matter where your seat is. Don’t forget the cap to keep your hair in place (and to feel more put together without a lot of sleep). Of course, noise-cancelling headphones to get those extra ZZZs are a must, too.
