Do It For the 'Gram! A Guide to 12 of Nashville's Most Instagram Worthy Murals
Traveling to Nashville, Tennessee soon? One of the can’t-miss highlights of your trip needs to be the incredibly photo-ready, Instagram worthy murals! With more than 100 murals in the city (and more being painted every day!), Nashville is just not Music City, but Mural City as well.
In 2016, Nashville started their “Nashville Walls Project,” where artists from all over could come to create personalized pieces. Since then, the numbers of murals have grown substantially throughout the city and have given Nashville a flair that is uniquely it’s own.
By no means is this a comprehensive list of murals - Camels & Chocolate has one of the most comprehensive lists I’ve seen - but this is a great starting point for reference!
The Gulch
#WhatLiftsYou Nashville Wings Mural
Artist: Kelsey Montague
Where: 11th Avenue South (near Biscuit Love)
Easily one of the most famous murals in Nashville, these wings are 20-feet high and intricately decorated (do you see the guitars?). Get there early because there is always a line for this one.
The Nashville Walls Project
Artists: Ian Ross, Jason Woodside
Where: 11th Avenue South and Laurel Street
Located right across the street from the #WhatLiftsYou wings, are these incredible murals. Both make for an interesting backdrop in any photo.
Acoustic Skyline
Artist: Allison Johnson
Where: 1004 Division St
This one might be a bit outside the Gulch area of the others, but absolutely worth it to stop by!
Welcome to Nashville
Artist: Anthony Billups
Where: Nashville Peddle Tavern 1504 Demonbreun St
Just up on the bridge from the Gulch, this mural overlooks the city with vivid colors.
12 South
Nashville Looks Good On You

Grab some coffee at Frothy Monkey and then head into the rear parking lot to snag this shot!
I Believe in Nashville

With coffee in hand, head across the street to this iconic Nashville mural. Bonus: The Draper James store and it’s iconic blue and white wall is right across the alley!
Looking Pretty, Music City
Artist: Emily Eisenhart / Eastside Murals
Where: 2709 12th Avenue South
Note: This mural recently replaced the hippie inspired, peace sign Nashville mural. But it’s still pretty in its own right!
I Love Donuts
Artist: Unknown
Where: Five Daughters Bakery 12 South
Still got that coffee from Frothy Monkey? Good! Walk down the street to add in a 100-layer donut and this adorable mural. The inside is just as Instagram-worthy!
