Trader Joe’s is known for unique foods and snack selections, and the store’s limited holiday releases are worth waiting for. I’ve been strolling the aisles of my local store to browse the Trader Joe’s Valentine’s products as they’re stocked, and I haven't been disappointed. There are candies, cakes, chocolate-covered everything, and even heart-shaped raviolis.
If you’re celebrating Valentine’s (or Galentine’s or Palentine’s) swing by a local TJ’s to stock up with the very best treats.
16 Valentine Themed Products I Found At Trader Joe’s
Belgian Chocolate Hearts
Chocolate hearts are a quintessential Valentine’s sweet treat, so thank goodness TJ’s has these stocked. The chocolate hearts come in an adorably pink-themed box that you can wrap or gift as is (if you’re not saving them for yourself). There is a classic flavor and a Belgian bonbon with a praline filling option, so you might as well get both.
Chocolate Mousse Cake
This dessert is for cake lovers. It’s a chocolate layered cake with chocolate mousse filling. The cake is heart-shaped and is decorated with a pink heart and green branch, making it perfect for celebrating and sharing. You can place a numbered candle on top for an anniversary, too!
Strawberry Mochi
These gluten-free rice dough desserts aren’t actually a Valentine’s Day special item, but they’re pink and sweet so they fit the bill. Found in the frozen aisle, the mochi is made with strawberry ice cream and the dessert’s classic rice dough exterior.
Dark Chocolate Covered Marshmallows
Ah, more dark chocolate. These February-specific dark chocolate-covered marshmallows are a bestseller. The round marshmallows are “light and fluffy” and the dark chocolate gives them a rich coat that also adds a bit of a crunch. They’re bite-sized and fun to eat (in addition to being delicious!).
Sipping Chocolate
This sipping chocolate is a thing of its own—not a hot cocoa or chocolate milk in a tin. It’s a European-inspired drink that is decadent and rich. It has the deep chocolate flavor you’d expect, and the tin has recipes to make it traditionally or as a hot chocolate-like drink. This makes a great treat for anyone who likes chocolate, but may not like desserts or candies.
Ricotta Cuoricini Ravioli
If your Valentine’s involves cooking a homemade meal, definitely include these heart-shaped Ricotta Cuoricini Ravioli. The heart-shaped pasta has a pink hue and makes a love-themed dinner a breeze. Serve them with a red sauce for the ultimate V-day dinner.
Almond Cookies
Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Chunk Almond Cookies are a pantry staple. They’re flavorful and look great on a serving plate. Though the packaging looks a bit like a holiday design, we recommend adding these to your cart for any Valentine’s Day gathering for added flavors and some variety.
Valentine’s Cards
You may be at Trader Joe’s for the unique foods and flavors, but you can also pick up a Valentine’s Day card at the checkout. The store has several options that are full of hearts and sayings like “Be Mine,” “Love you very much,” and “I’m stuck on you.” They’re perfect for writing a little love note to your friends or partner, and the designs are cute too.
Cocoa Truffles
Trader Joe’s cocoa truffles are a rich dessert. They’re delicious with a nightcap or as a sweet midday snack. The box is a candy-apple red color that looks like a Valentine’s gift on its own.
Gummy XOs
Though chocolate gets most of the attention around Valentine’s Day, gummies and chewy candy are popular, too. These Gummy Xs and Os are whimsical and playful; imagine setting them on a serving tray with a note or tucking them into a card. However, the Trader Joe’s employees told me that these are being discontinued, so if you like gummies, run to these ASAP!
Dark Chocolate Mini Heart Cookies
If you or your crush has a sweet tooth, these cookies check all the boxes. The shortbread cookies are glazed with dark chocolate and have pink and white nonpareils sprinkles. They remind me of frosted animal cookies and make the best Valentine’s pantry treat.
Wool Wreath
Don’t sleep on the Valentine’s decor at Trader Joe’s, and I’m not just talking about flowers. I found these pink, white, and red wool ball garland wreaths and immediately wanted one for my home. They’re a bit weighty, so they won’t flap around in the wind on an exterior door, but they’ll brighten up any indoor space just as well.
Wool Garland
Just like the wool ball wreath above, there are Valentine's-inspired garlands at Trader Joe’s. The garland is perfect for decorating a mantle, shelf, tree, or for adding to your space for a pink pop of color and Valentine’s spirit. The felted garland is handcrafted and will last you for years to come.
Strawberry Buttons
These fun peel-away candy buttons are a joy to eat and fit with our pink-themed treats. They’re typically available year-round, but they are unlike any of the Valentine’s chocolates stocked on the rest of the TJ’s shelves. If you’re making a Valentine’s candy basket, don’t skip these.
Flowers
One of Trader Joe’s best displays is the fresh flower areas that greet you as you walk in. The store always has a selection of floral arrangements that start as cheap as $3. Flowers are a classic Valentine’s gift, and TJ’s makes it easy to grab a vibrant bouquet or make your own. As Valentine’s approaches, expect more pink roses and white and red varieties. The mixed bouquets are also pretty, and you can always add in baby’s breath or tulips for more fragrance.
Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chunks
Though these chocolate chunks are always in stock in the baking aisle, they’re still a great Valentine’s item. You can mix them into homemade granola, use them while baking desserts, or package them in cute jars as small gifts for your loved ones. Who doesn’t love a handful of chocolate every now and then?
